Serena told Scott that she had no idea how she got the mark on her arm. Scott and Eve became closer as he admitted his worry for Serena and that he might have been able to prevent the kidnapping. Lucy found Danielle at Dominique's grave and learned that she was planning to leave Port Charles to protect Dominique's family. A touched Lucy then prepared to introduce Danielle to Scott. Joe fantasized about Karen walking away from Jagger and into his arms. The sexual tension between Joe and Karen was disguised as anger as they had words before she left for San Francisco to try to work things out with Jagger. Rex met a woman who used to baby-sit Jason Quartermaine when Jason was in Scott's custody. The woman recalled how Scott had once married Jason's natural mother to get her money and that he had been a neglectful parent to Jason. Rex then looked at a slide of Scott and made it clear that Scott's happy days were numbered.

Jake told Kevin the story of how he had met Danielle. After learning that he had some free time before his next shift, Jake hurried home where he found a tearful Danielle writing him a goodbye letter. Scott became suspicious when he learned that Danielle was Dominique's sister, but Scott hid his doubts in front of Lucy. Scott wanted more information from Danielle and thought that it was quite a coincidence that they had arrived in Port Charles at the same time. Danielle made her escape, but not before running into Kevin. Kevin questioned Lucy, who was still hurting emotionally from her miscarriage. Later, Lucy told Serena a bedtime story as Kevin and Scott tried to make sense out of Danielle's presence in Port Charles. Chris prepared for a romantic dinner with Julie. Julie was slightly taken aback by Chris' plans, but he assured her that they were just friends. Julie told Chris about living her life in her father's shadow and Chris said that he could relate because had never been allowed to fail either. Later, Chris kissed Julie.

Jake returned to his apartment and caught Danielle attempting to skip out on him again. Danielle tried to convince Jake that it was over between them, but he read her goodbye letter out loud and an emotional Danielle broke down. Danielle then admitted that she was frightened and that she had done some horrible things. Jake realized that it was Rex who was holding the threats over Danielle. Jake then said that he couldn't live without Danielle and that he would leave Port Charles with her. Scott was convinced that the kidnappers had done something to Serena, but was distressed that Serena would no longer confide in him. Scott then asked Kevin to help him get through to Serena. Kevin was more than happy to help and agreed with Scott that something suspicious was going on. Chris apologized for kissing Julie and said that he didn't want to do anything to jeopardize their friendship. Julie admitted that she and Frank were having problems because of her hidden identity. Meanwhile, Frank confided to Grace that he was a changed man and that he would be open minded the next time he saw Julie. Later, Chris shared some secrets about Julie to Frank under the guise that Frank already knew them. Frank then became irate that Julie had once again failed to share with him.

Rex stopped Jake and Danielle from fleeing and Rex told Jake that Danielle was Dominique's half sister and that Danielle had kidnapped Serena. Jake was then hit even harder when Rex told him that his meeting Danielle had been no accident. Rex failed to convince Jake that Danielle hadn't been forced to do everything and Jake said that he still loved Danielle. Rex informed Jake that they would all be spending a lot of time together as partners and was convinced that Jake and Danielle would cooperate with him. Scott and Kevin both agreed that Serena's arm injury belied something that happened to her during her kidnapping. Both Kevin and Scott, however, agreed to keep this news from Lucy, who was still grieving from her miscarriage. Joe apologized for his awkward behavior with Karen, but was still torn when he saw Karen leave to go visit Jagger in San Francisco. Later, Joe was embarrassed when Karen saw him having a drink with a nurse. Kevin tried to assure a distraught Lucy that she wasn't to blame for her miscarriage.

Danielle tried to deal with the aftermath of Rex's revelations to Jake and Danielle told Jake to turn her in to the police. Jake didn't call the police, but did make it clear that he would do anything to prevent Rex from continuing his plan. Karen arrived at her and Jagger's apartment in San Francisco. Karen, however, didn't encounter Jagger and was surprised when an attractive woman let herself into the apartment. Scott and Kevin decided to work together to find out the truth about Rex and Danielle. Later, Kevin spoke with Serena and asked her to draw a picture of the woman who kidnapped her. Meanwhile, Scott met with Rex. Lucy went to Danielle's apartment and apologized for the way Scott had acted. Danielle said that Scott had been right to have questions about her and Lucy then said that she had some questions of her own for Danielle. Matt told Ellen his theories about Cooper causing his own seizures.
