In the Forrester CEO's office, Steffy didn't understand Eric's hesitation to toss out the disguised Quinn. Eric told Steffy to hang up the phone because Quinn would leave on her own. Steffy complied.
Eric told Quinn that it had been very unwise of her to be there. Steffy raged that Quinn had heard Eric, and Steffy began to render a threat about Quinn getting near Steffy's family. Quinn tried to interject something, but Steffy slammed down her hand and said any hope Quinn had about being a part of the family was gone. "It's never going to happen!" Steffy decreed.
Later, Eric was alone and frustrated. Quinn entered, removing her hat and sunglasses. She'd hidden in a supply closet until Steffy had left. Eric roared that his granddaughter was no longer in the building, but he didn't know why Quinn was.
Eric asked Quinn what she'd been thinking to sneak into Forrester like that. Eric had known Steffy wouldn't approve of him and Quinn, but he hadn't realized how upset Steffy would be about Quinn being in Steffy's life at all. Quinn asked if she'd messed up with what she and Eric had going. Eric didn't even know what they had going, but he asked what she suggested he do.
Still in her fake moustache and eyebrows, Quinn stated that Steffy had put Quinn in her place, but nothing would ever improve if Steffy didn't believe Quinn's change. Eric asked if the change was true, because she'd said it before. Quinn stated that, even though her relationship with Liam had been wrong, it had taught her that she was worthy of a good man. "A man like you, Eric," Quinn said.
Quinn wasn't under any illusions about Eric and figured there would be others for them if it didn't work out. She said she'd never be with another Deacon or Bill. She'd never think so little of herself to be with a man who reinforced the worst parts of her, the parts of her that got her into trouble.
Eric asked if Quinn meant parts such as dressing up and creating an astonishing accent. Quinn reasoned that the accent could be sexy. "Eh..." Eric quibbled. Quinn said that she was living in the moment with Eric, and she was loving it. She asked if that hadn't been their promise to each other.
Eric repeated the "in the moment" phrase. Removing Quinn's moustache, he said he was loving "this," and he and Quinn kissed.
In Bill's office, Wyatt disagreed with Liam that Quinn would doom the Spencer marriage. Wyatt believed that she was different, and something or someone had smoothed out her edges. Liam called it an act and wondered how the "mother-in-law from hell" would retaliate against Steffy's warnings.
"Retaliate?" Wyatt questioned. He said Quinn liked Steffy. Liam was sure it was a lot less after Steffy had banned Quinn and wondered if Wyatt actually thought Quinn could magically get back into Steffy's good graces. Wyatt said to never underestimate Quinn Fuller. Liam raged that it was exactly what Wyatt was doing, as he'd always done, to the detriment of others and Wyatt.
"Oh, so you're worried about me now?" Wyatt asked. Liam wasn't worried about Wyatt because Wyatt knew his mother -- and due to that knowledge, Wyatt should be more worried. Upset that Liam was accusing him of not being vigilant with his wife, Wyatt said Liam was an idiot. Wyatt asserted that he'd protect Steffy -- when she needed it. Liam insisted that the sick Quinn would find something to do to Steffy, and none of them would see it on the horizon. Wyatt shook his head.
Wyatt yelled for Liam to understand that Steffy was Wyatt's wife to protect, and so far, Quinn had steered clear. Opening the door, Steffy announced that Quinn definitely wasn't steering clear. Closing the door, Steffy explained that a Russian man with a goatee had visited Forrester -- except he hadn't been Russian or a man. Wyatt and Liam were puzzled. Steffy said that Quinn had worn a ridiculous disguise, speaking in an accent and trying to sneak in to get her job back.
The men both wondered how Steffy had encountered Quinn if Quinn had been there to visit Eric. Steffy explained that she'd been in her "grandfather's chair" when Quinn had arrived, and luckily, Eric had arrived to shut it down. Steffy was done with Wyatt's lunatic mother. Wyatt promised to deal with it, but Liam began to call Lieutenant Baker to get a restraining order.
"Bro, hold on a second," Wyatt said. Wyatt was concerned, too, but suggested that they deal with the restraining order when the three of them returned from Monaco. Liam put away his phone, and Steffy asked what Wyatt was talking about. Wyatt revealed that Bill was sending Liam, Wyatt, and Steffy to the Spencer Summit. "Surprise," Liam mirthlessly said.
Wyatt showed Steffy the summit promo and asked if Forrester could spare her for a few days on short notice. Liam stated that if Forrester couldn't, Bill would understand. "Like hell he will!" Wyatt responded. Wyatt saw it as an opportunity to build on Steffy's social media presence and for cross-promotion for the companies.
"And I get to be a continent away from Quinn," Steffy reasoned. Liam was interested in speaking to Prince Albert about his foundations and noted that "the guy was like" really big on the environment and sustainable development. Wyatt said the trip was about Spencer, not Liam saving the world.
Wyatt's phone chimed. He said that duty called and asked if Steffy was in. She agreed to adjust her schedule. Liam cut his eyes away as the couple kissed. Wyatt left, and she guessed Liam wasn't looking forward to the trip. Liam wondered if she was okay with the whole media blitz thing.
Steffy asked for a reason she shouldn't be. Liam admitted that it was an inspired idea but asked her not to tell Wyatt he'd said it. Liam agreed when Steffy said Wyatt was doing well at Spencer; however, Liam believed that Wyatt was warping into a Bill mini-me and warned that the garish shirts would be next. Liam said Bill was about racking in money.
Steffy knew that Liam was about something else -- helping others. She said he wanted to save the planet and be there for people. She admired and respected it. Liam remarked upon how hard it would be to take the trip when he and Steffy should be enjoying it as a married couple -- and would be married had it not been for Quinn. He reasoned that he would still get to be with Steffy, look at her face, and see her smile. Nearing her, he said they were the moments he lived for anyways. "Not bad," he concluded.
In the photo studio, Zende and Nicole kissed near LED-lit pedestal displays of shoes. He'd tried to approach the shoes shoot from a different angle, but he concluded that if one had seen one pair of shoes, one had seen them all. Nicole felt that it was a blasphemous statement, and women never tired of looking at the Holy Grail of accessories in magazines, online, or in stores.
Nicole felt bad for having issues with Zende photographing Sasha. Zende dismissed it, but Nicole said it wasn't okay if her feelings stood in the way of his success. She trusted him and what they had, which was all that mattered.
Pumped from Nicole's shoe talk, Zende enthusiastically flashed pictures of the shoes. He took pictures of her, too, and she smiled. He called her beautiful. She asked if he meant "now" that she wasn't as big as a whale. He claimed it hadn't been about the size but about what the size had meant. He wanted to conclude the matter by saying he'd been stupid to let her go and leave it at that.
Touching Nicole's stomach, Zende asked if she missed pregnancy. Nicole was proud of what she'd done, but she was also glad to be back to herself and her old life. He remarked that they hadn't officially celebrated their reunion yet, and he had a special night planned to show her what she meant to him.
Nicole asked if they'd have a date on the jet, and Zende quipped that he wouldn't copy her Spencer date. She didn't want to be kept in suspense, but Zende wanted to keep it a surprise. She had to go to her parents' place, and he said he'd pick her up from there.
Zende asked how the Avant reunion was going. Nicole shared that Vivienne was working on it but had issues with how Julius had treated Sasha. Zende said it was better with things out in the open, and Sasha was Nicole's family. Nicole quipped that Sasha had wanted to be Zende's family, too. He replied that he'd never felt about Sasha as he did about Nicole.
Nicole knew and didn't feel insecure. Zende said she shouldn't because he was in love with her, not Sasha. Just then, Sasha entered, and Nicole's expression flattened. Sasha was sorry for interrupting, but Zende and Nicole said she wasn't. Sasha guessed it was "another of those accessory shoots." He and Nicole believed it might be the last one. Nicole added that Zende would be doing lingerie.
Sasha was confused. She'd thought Nicole hadn't wanted Zende photographing Sasha. Sasha then guessed she'd be removed from lingerie for a model Nicole approved of. Nicole replied that Sasha's work seemed to be fine, and Forrester probably wouldn't make changes. It was Nicole who'd changed after doing some thinking.
Sasha asked if Nicole was actually okay with her boyfriend shooting Sasha in lingerie. Nicole claimed to trust Zende. "See you tonight," Nicole and Zende said to each other, and Nicole left.
Sasha was impressed with Nicole's change about Sasha and Zende working together. Zende replied that it had never been about the work. Sasha guessed Nicole hadn't wanted him around Sasha in lingerie. Taking off her jacket, Sasha suggested that they test it out and see how it went with him clicking away at her in lingerie. Chuckling, Zende knew she was kidding -- or he at least hoped so. He reiterated that Nicole was the only woman he loved.
At Brooke's, she and Ridge looked through her refrigerator to see if there was anything Ridge wanted to eat. She said that Maya liked to always buy one extra of everything in case Zende popped in for dinner.
Brooke asked why Ridge had decided to visit, and Ridge responded that he had wanted to check on Brooke. He worried about her relationship with Katie because Katie had learned about Brooke and Bill. Brooke correctly assumed that Caroline was busy.
Ridge explained that he had given Caroline and Thomas some time alone with Douglas. Brooke admired his decision. He admitted that it had been Katie's idea. Ridge acknowledged that Katie had often seen things more clearly than he had. "Except in choosing a husband," he added. Brooke looked distracted. Ridge asked about Katie.
Brooke said that Katie wanted nothing to do with her. Ridge asked if she had explained that Bill and Brooke had never slept together. Brooke said she had, but Katie saw that as a technicality, and Brooke agreed with her.
Ridge asked about Bill, and Brooke said she had made it very clear to him that there was no future for them. "Even though I was hoping that he would persuade me otherwise," Brooke admitted. Ridge said that Bill had taken Will away from his mother. He quickly noted that he was no better than Bill. Brooke disagreed. "Your situation is completely different," she said.
Brooke asked about Thomas, and Ridge said that he had given his loft to Thomas. It would be easier for Thomas to have overnights and weekends with Douglas. Ridge worried that giving up the loft meant he had parted with a lot of memories he had made with Caroline there. He also worried that he would have nowhere to go after his dad threw him out of the house.
"Eric will never throw you out," Brooke said. "He fired me," Ridge countered. Ridge noted that he would be a designer, but his dad was CEO. Ridge lamented that he was an outsider looking in on his company and his marriage.
At Forrester Creations, Caroline and Douglas visited Thomas. She wondered if it was a bad time, and Thomas said it was never a bad time "to see my son and his lovely mother." Caroline said she and Ridge needed to get out of the house because Zende had some romantic plans for the evening.
Thomas wondered if Zende and Nicole would get back together. Caroline didn't know. She noted that having a baby changed people, but Zende and Nicole had seemed to be very close for a long time.
Thomas was thrilled that his father had agreed to the visitation schedule and had offered to let him move into the loft. It eliminated the awkwardness of him living on the Forrester grounds. Conversation changed to Douglas, and Thomas said he didn't know much about how to be a father. He said he didn't feel he'd have his Dad merit badge until Douglas had puked on him. He and Caroline laughed.
Thomas and Caroline discussed that Thomas would learn how to become a father as time passed. They shared a few laughs and played with Douglas. Caroline shared funny things that Douglas did like cute little baby snores. Thomas noted he was comfortable with the baby, and the baby seemed to be comfortable as well. Thomas kissed Douglas, and Caroline watched. She said it was a moment she'd never thought would happen.
In the studio at Forrester, Zende and Sasha had wrapped up photo shoots, and Zende said he was in a hurry to leave. Sasha said she wondered if he would start shooting her again soon. Zende left the room, and Sasha looked at proofs of her latest photos.
Zende returned dressed in a suit. Sasha admired his look and wondered if he and Nicole planned to attend a premiere. Zende told her not to worry about what he and Nicole did. Sasha asked him to look at her photos, and she wondered why they didn't look good. "He doesn't know how to light you," Zende said of the photographer who had shot the photos. Zende had to leave, and Sasha thanked him for the advice.
At Julius and Vivienne's place, Nicole talked to her parents, and Vivienne asked if they could all head out to dinner. Nicole said she had plans with Zende, and Vivienne offered that she and Julius could join them. Nicole tried to be courteous, but Julius interrupted and told Vivienne to leave the kids alone.
Nicole smiled and said that Zende had said he would pick her up at her parents' place. Someone knocked at the door, and Nicole worried that it couldn't be Zende because she hadn't had time to do her hair.
A Forrester employee entered the apartment and delivered a gown in a wardrobe bag. He said it was from Zende, and he left. Nicole gushed as she told her mother to open it. Vivienne opened it, Nicole gasped, and her mother said, "Wow. Zende is one special young man!"
Nicole disappeared to get ready for her date with Zende. Vivienne said they had the most beautiful and caring daughters in the world. Julius reminded his wife how beautiful she was. He worried that he had caused her a lot of pain and that she wouldn't let him back into her heart. She said she was trying.
Zende showed up, and Julius and Vivienne admired his haircut and suit. Julius teased that when he'd been young, people would have said that Zende was "clean as a preacher's son." Vivienne and Julius said the gown he had sent over was beautiful. Nicole greeted everyone, and they admired her gown and hair. Zende told her she looked beautiful. Zende and Nicole left, and Julius taught Vivienne how to putt.
Vivienne said it was fun to see "our little Cinderella going out with her Prince Charming." Julius said he remembered when they'd been young, he would walk her home from concerts in the park, and all the fellows and neighbors would peek out the windows at Vivienne, the most beautiful girl he had ever known.
Nicole and Zende entered the Forrester mansion, and Nicole wondered why it was so dark and if there was a surprise party planned. She wondered if she would know anyone. Zende teased that it was just the two of them. He took her hand, and a waiter seated her at a table set for dinner. Another served them Champagne. "I can't believe you did all this for me," she said. "I want to make up for lost time. Let's not lose any more," Zende said.
Later, Zende and Nicole danced in the living room. He took her outside on the terrace, and they admired the view of a sunset. Zende reminisced about his childhood. They kissed, and Zende said he admired her strength and generosity.
Nicole said she appreciated that Zende had taken the time to make sure that she knew how he felt. She marveled about everything that had happened to her since she had moved to Los Angeles. Her parents had moved there; she'd had a baby for her sister. She said, "Life has changed so much, and best of all -- I am here with you. Nobody can be as happy as I am tonight." They kissed.
At Brooke's, she and Ridge sympathized with one another over family issues. Brooke admired Ridge because he had lost his son, and he had been dealing with a lot, dating back to the time when Caroline had been pregnant. Ridge noted that forgiveness was the greatest virtue. Without it, they wouldn't be sitting in her kitchen, talking. Ridge wondered if Brooke had heard from Katie or Bill, and she said she hadn't but that Bill hadn't heard the last from her because she wouldn't allow him to take Will from Katie.
Ridge cheered Brooke on and said it was a big task. Brooke said she had to make it happen. "I like that grit and determination. I haven't seen that in a long time," he said. Ridge agreed he also had a lot of work to do. He had returned Douglas to his father because it had been the right thing to do. He vowed to do everything he could to get his family back together.
Brooke noted that Bill had complained about Katie's behavior, but Brooke admitted that she believed Katie had been depressed and drinking "because of Bill and me." Brooke wanted to protect Will's family. Ridge said Brooke appeared to be a lioness. "The woman I fell in love with all those years ago," he said. Brooke was flattered.
Brooke wondered if there was anything she could do for him at Forrester, but Ridge said it was a good time for Eric to be running the company because the news about Douglas would go public, and he needed time to protect his family. It was the right thing to do for Douglas, Thomas, and Caroline.
Ridge commented that they had a family of their own, and Douglas didn't deserve to have scandal hanging over him. Ridge confessed that he felt Thomas and Caroline loved each other -- he'd overheard a conversation, and he felt that Caroline looked at Thomas "the way she used to look at me." Brooke looked distraught.
Ridge said it was his own fault. He'd been too busy trying to give her what she wanted in the future instead of living in the moment. He should have loved her the way she needed to be loved. "Look at this mess we made," he said. He added that they both needed to take care of all their children. "Including Rick?" Brooke asked. "Including Rick," Ridge agreed.
Brooke said they had to be grownups. "Not good at that," Ridge joked. Brooke noted that she had a sister who needed her. Brooke and Ridge agreed to be leaders. "We can do this," Ridge said, and they agreed they had their work cut out for them.
At Forrester Creations, Caroline and Douglas visited with Thomas. Thomas held Douglas and told him that when Caroline had first appeared on the scene at Forrester, she had turned quite a few heads. Douglas smiled. Thomas said it would be nice to have his own place to welcome Douglas and Caroline. He promised to baby-proof the loft before Caroline allowed Douglas to visit. He said it was an opportunity to spend time alone with Douglas. "Our little family," Caroline said.
Thomas and Caroline wondered what career path Douglas would choose. Caroline wondered if he would be an artist or a scientist, but Thomas suggested an athlete or whatever career he wanted with no limitations. "We'll make sure of it, but we're not gonna spoil him," Thomas said. Caroline agreed, but Thomas joked that he had seen her shoe collection back in the day. He added that Douglas' entire college fund was in her closet. Caroline countered that Thomas' suit collection could fill a warehouse. They agreed it was amazing to be sharing their dreams for Douglas.
Veronica knocked on the door and entered. She greeted Caroline, and Thomas shared that he and Veronica had dinner plans. Caroline looked miffed, but Veronica said they were just getting some food. She asked to hold Douglas and said she had a nephew about his age.
Caroline looked uncomfortable letting Veronica hold Douglas. She suggested Thomas and Veronica have fun, but she asked Veronica to take a picture of them before they left. Veronica obliged, and Thomas and Veronica left. Caroline stared at the picture.
At the Forrester mansion, Nicole and Zende enjoyed dinner together, and Nicole said that when she was with him, she lacked for nothing, and he promised that she never would need anything. Zende asked if she enjoyed French food, and she said she did. Zende said it had all been made possible because Ridge and Eric had helped him pull it off. They were true romantics. Zende and Nicole kissed.
Zende and Nicole shared that they both felt lucky. She had wondered if they would ever get back together and had only dreamed things would be so good between them.
Zende apologized for their breakup. Nicole understood and said he had reacted the same way any guy would have. Zende appreciated that she had been a surrogate for her sister. "I've seen a lot of selfless acts in life but not anything quite like that," he said. Maya and Rick had wanted a family, and she had given them one. He called her "the most Incredible woman I almost lost."
Zende was grateful. Nicole smiled. She was surprised to be sitting at an elegant table, surrounded by flowers and music. They agreed they had both been lucky. He extended a hand and danced with her. They kissed passionately, and he carried her upstairs to his room.
Zende told Nicole he loved her and wanted the future they had almost lost. She agreed. He took off his jacket, and she removed his tie. He removed her necklace. She removed his shirt, and they fell back on the bed and made love.
Later, Nicole and Zende held each other, and she shared that he was all she ever needed. She could spend the rest of her days like that. He was the best thing to happen to her. Zende apologized for ever causing her pain. They professed their love for each other, kissed, and smiled.
At Quinn's place, Quinn had just told Deacon about getting caught in disguise. He said he'd told her that the affair would backfire, and Steffy had told Quinn to stay away from the Forresters. Quinn said she hadn't been there to see Steffy, and staying away wasn't an option because Steffy was married to Quinn's son. In Quinn's view, Steffy needed to see that Quinn had changed.
As Quinn constructed jewelry, Deacon doubted Steffy would warm up to Quinn or that Quinn's affair with Eric would pan out, either. Quinn reasoned that Eric could have ended it when Steffy had caught Quinn, but he hadn't. "Not yet," Deacon replied. He felt it was a matter of time.
Quinn asked when Deacon had become so pessimistic. She claimed she'd had a setback, but it hadn't hurt her relationship with Wyatt or her connection with Eric.
In the photo studio, Steffy posed next to a Forrester logo pedestal as a photographer snapped shots. Steffy wondered if it'd be better to get stills of her working. Wyatt thought they needed promo shots and would get all the candid photos they needed in Monaco.
Steffy replied that Monaco was where she'd get away from Quinn. Getting away from Quinn sounded good to Wyatt. Steffy wondered if six thousand miles was far enough. Steffy still couldn't believe Bill had taken Will. Wyatt stated that it was to protect the child, and if Bill stayed in town, the couple might be able to work things out. It was all they could hope for.
Wyatt noted that the Spencer Summit was short one big-name speaker, and he was thinking of asking Eric, the international icon of fashion and legend in business. Steffy called it brilliant because the summit would be the perfect place for Eric to announce his return as CEO.
Wyatt replied that he'd thought Eric's job was temporary. Steffy said it was, but they still wanted it to make headlines. Wyatt figured it would keep the spotlight off Douglas' paternity. "When it comes out, yeah," Steffy replied. He asked if she knew when it would happen. Steffy believed it should have happened the moment Ridge had known, and Ridge should have been honest about it. She thought it was "so messed up." Wyatt believed they couldn't let their parents' choices affect them.
Wyatt was ready to get away from the drama by hosting the summit. Steffy wondered if Quinn would do something crazy in their absence. He hoped not and volunteered to talk to Quinn. Steffy replied that talking to Quinn never did anything good.
Later, Wyatt arrived at Quinn's house and noted that she wasn't surprised to see him. Quinn assumed it was about her Forrester visit. Wyatt seemed incredulous about her showing up there, dressed as a Russian man, and asked why Quinn couldn't do what he'd asked her to do.
Quinn claimed she'd done it to get her job back and asked Wyatt to look at where she was living. Wyatt didn't believe it was the motive. Quinn said it had been worth a shot. He asked in what universe, because in theirs, she had zero shot of it. She replied that it might be true, but not everyone at Forrester hated her, and Eric had always been kind and generous.
Wyatt agreed, saying anyone else would have thrown her in jail for trespassing. Quinn suggested that Wyatt tell his wife that all the stress and animosity wasn't good for her. Wyatt yelled that it wasn't good for him, either. He loved his mother but hated the position she put him. He said he needed a break, and he and Steffy were going away for a while to host the summit in "Monte Carlo" together.
Quinn became excited and called it romantic. Wyatt grumbled that Liam was hosting, too. Quinn asked if it would be awkward. Wyatt said it might not be just the three of them because Steffy was inviting Eric to speak there. "Really? Eric might be going, too?" Quinn asked.
In the CEO's office, Ridge and Eric sat down to go over the new lines. Eric asked if Ridge could do it or if it was too much of a stress or strain to see Eric behind the desk. It wasn't either for Ridge, who said Eric should be running the company. Ridge had to focus on his family. Eric said it was wise.
Ridge disclosed that Brooke had helped him decide it. He said that they often forgot that Brooke always knew what to do in a crisis. Eric wondered how Brooke was doing. To him, she'd seemed stressed. Ridge replied that people went through things. Agreeing, Eric said it was good to have someone to depend upon, which Ridge and Brooke had been for Eric during Stephanie's passing. Eric remarked that Brooke had her sisters and Ridge. Ridge agreed and said it was nice because he and Brooke didn't judge each other as they tried to take care of the people they cared about.
Steffy arrived, and over coffee, she, Eric, and Ridge discussed Quinn's antics. Ridge hadn't heard about it yet and wanted to know what Quinn had said to Steffy. Steffy shared that Quinn hadn't been dumb enough to show up to see her, but Quinn had hoped Eric would give her job back to her. Steffy cringed about Quinn's disguise and said she couldn't wait to get away from Quinn.
Steffy explained that it was why she was there. She told Ridge and Eric that she and Wyatt were hosting the Spencer Summit because Bill had his hands full with Katie and Will. She couldn't say more on Bill's issues. Eric asked if Bill hadn't chosen both sons. Steffy said Bill had, but it took more than three Spencers to fill Bill's shoes. That was why Wyatt had proposed inviting Eric. "Me?" Eric asked.
Steffy said Eric was an innovator with a record of respect. Ridge urged Eric to do it. Steffy said they could get Eva to cover publicity. Ridge offered to hold down the fort. "And keep an eye out for Quinn," Steffy added. Eric doubted Quinn would pull another stunt. Steffy hoped not, but they wouldn't be there if Quinn did.
At Spencer, Brooke entered Bill's office. He'd been wondering when she'd show up. She asked how he could take Will from Katie. Bill corrected that he'd kept Katie from taking Will from him. Brooke wanted to know where Will was, and she wanted to see him. Bill said Will was fine where he was.
Brooke asserted that Will wasn't fine and needed to be with his mother. Bill stated that he wasn't being heartless. He was concerned about Katie, which was why he didn't want her alone with Will.
As Brooke was claiming that Katie wasn't a danger to Will, Bill received a call from Alison that Katie was in the building. Bill said to not let Katie up and to say that she and Bill could speak via the phone, just as they had been doing.
After the call, Brooke asked if Bill really wouldn't let Katie up there. Bill said he wouldn't allow Katie to make a scene. Brooke asserted that keeping Katie from Will was wrong, and Brooke wouldn't allow it. Brooke insisted that Bill talk to Katie, who had a right to know what he'd done with her son.
Bill said Will was a lot safer than he'd be with the out-of-control Katie, who'd threatened not to let Bill see Will again. Brooke claimed that Katie had been upset about what they'd done. Bill said it was irrelevant; Katie's reaction had been reckless and irresponsible -- on top of the drinking and tantrums.
Just then, Katie burst through the door with a complaining Alison behind her. Alison said she could call security. Brooke said not to, and Alison left. Katie demanded to know what Bill had done with Will. Katie wasn't surprised to see Brooke there and said Alison could call security and the police, but Katie wouldn't leave without Will. Brooke replied that no one would call the police, but Katie asserted that she would if it didn't end soon.
Katie had already called Liam, Karen, and prior nannies, and Katie had hired a detective. Bill replied that Katie shouldn't have done it. She asked why he was hiding her son. Bill replied that he wasn't hiding the child; he was protecting the child, which had obviously been the right call because Katie had lost it. "I mean, hiring a private detective? Involving my family? Come on," Bill said.
Katie asked if Bill had expected her to stand by as he stole her child from her. Bill replied that barging in with threats and posturing would accomplish nothing. "You just need to calm down and get yourself together," he told her. Katie claimed that she wasn't being irrational, and her fears had never been so -- though he'd wanted her to think it. Bill said it had never gone as far as Katie had thought.
Katie asked what it meant or even mattered. Katie decided to meet at the police station because she was having Bill arrested for kidnapping. Brooke intervened, saying they needed to calm down and talk about it. Katie claimed to need her son. Brooke agreed and said she and Bill weren't involved with each other.
Brooke said she was there for Katie and Will. Brooke told Bill that Will needed his mother and said to Katie that she'd told Bill to give the child back. Katie said it didn't involve Brooke. Brooke said she knew what Will meant to Katie, who responded that it hadn't stopped Brooke from destroying Katie's family. Brooke said it should have. Bill interjected that if they rehashed it, they'd at least be honest.
In Bill's view, Brooke hadn't moved in on him, and he hadn't abandoned Katie. He'd been there, supporting Katie and Will, through the depression, the insecurities, and the drinking. Katie claimed that he'd lied each time she'd asked what had been going on with him and Brooke. He yelled that she'd been hanging by her fingernails, but she said it was because he'd lied to her face.
"What's your excuse now?" Bill demanded to know. Katie called Bill's actions despicable and told him that saying that she was unstable didn't make it true. "History does," Bill replied. "Now I am giving you time to get the help you need. Why are you wasting it fighting with me?"
Brooke claimed that she and Katie were asking Bill to do what was right for Katie's son. Brooke told Katie that Brooke was sorry for what she'd done, but she wouldn't wallow in her grief. Brooke was determined to fix it. "No one is asking you to do that," Bill responded.
Brooke felt that Will needed both of his parents. Brooke didn't think the wounds would heal overnight, but Bill was wrong to think he was protecting Will by keeping Will from his mother. Brooke asked Bill to reunite the mother and son, but Bill said that Will's safety was first.
Brooke said Katie was Will's mother. "I don't trust her. I can't do it," Bill said. Brooke replied that he could and ordered him to call whoever had Will and get them to get Will there at that instant. She insisted that Bill would reunite Will and Katie that day.
In Bill's office, Brooke demanded that Bill give Will to Katie. Bill asked if Brooke really trusted her nephew to Katie, and he asked if Katie really trusted herself with the child. Bill couldn't, and he advised Katie to use the time as a chance to get herself together. Brooke called it kidnapping. Bill said to stop with the melodrama because it was parenting and protecting Will, not kidnapping.
Katie threatened that "we" would get lawyers involved, the police, and the media. Not the least bit concerned, Bill welcomed going to court and putting her erratic behavior on record. He wanted a judge to order her to get help. Brooke declared that it wouldn't go to court, and it would end that day.
Bill admired how the Logan girls stuck together, but he felt Brooke needed to see it from his perspective. Katie and Brooke insisted that it was kidnapping to take her son without her permission. Katie claimed that being Will's father didn't matter, and it was kidnapping. Katie seethed that Wyatt and Liam's mothers had known better than to trust Bill and had kept Bill away from "their" sons.
Bill replied that Katie had no idea what she was talking about; however, because she actually believed herself, she should have no problem understanding why he was shielding his son from a woman incapable of mothering Will. Bill noted that Katie was unstable, barely able to care for herself. He asked how she'd care for a little boy. Bill believed she'd one day see his action as an act of kindness and someday thank him for protecting "our son."
Katie called Bill insane and said he knew she wouldn't hurt her son. Bill didn't think it would be intentional, but she could pass out drunk while Will was running around. Katie screamed that she hadn't been alone with Will, and Bill had been there. She claimed it didn't matter because she was no longer drinking. Bill said it was for the moment. He asked what it would be the next day and the next.
"Come on. You know that one day you're drinking; the next day you're not. One day you're seemingly stable, the next day you're coming completely unhinged," Bill stated. Katie blamed her drinking on Bill, claiming that it was because she'd known he was betraying her when he was trying to convince her that she delusional. Brooke agreed, saying that Bill couldn't call Katie unstable because he'd caused it. "Brooke. What are you doing?" Bill asked.
Bill felt that Brooke should know better than anyone that Katie was basing her issues on being victimized. Bill became frustrated as Brooke said they'd been terrible at the lies and denial and Katie had seen right through them. Brooke was convinced that their lies and denials had caused it. Brooke said they were done, and she'd never look at Bill the same way after he'd taken Will from Katie.
Brooke figured Will was scared to death. Bill stated that the child was fine and thought his mother was on vacation. Brooke asked Bill not to drag Will through a custody battle. Brooke claimed that Will needed both parents, even if they weren't under the same roof and couldn't repair their relationship. She claimed she'd say the same if Katie was doing it to him.
Bill said he didn't want to take the child; in a perfect world, he and Katie could share custody, and Will wouldn't know any animosity. Bill pointed out that, on top of the drinking and instability, Katie had threatened to take Will from Bill and deny Bill custody, which Bill would never allow. Brooke replied that taking Will first just made Bill the bad guy.
Brooke said Bill knew what would happen if Katie called the police, and Katie threatened to do it if she had to. Brooke knew Bill was confident that he could get a judge to declare Katie as unfit, but Bill would be arrested and lose parental rights. Brooke said it was Bill's chance to make it right before there was no turning back and claimed Will would suffer for the rest of his life if Bill didn't give Will to Katie.
Bill told Katie that he wanted what was best for her and Will. To Bill, Brooke had made some good points. He decided to take a degree of responsibility for her drinking, but he was still concerned about her, which made him still concerned about Will.
Bill decided that Katie needed to continue with the therapist. Katie readily nodded. He said he'd be in constant contact with the nanny and house staff. Bill would watch Katie like a hawk. "One drink, one moment of weakness, and we will be right back here -- and next time -- " Bill was saying. Katie cut him off, stating there wouldn't be a next time. "I promise. I promise," she tearfully said.
Bill picked up the phone to tell someone to get Will and to take him there. The three waited around, and Alison entered with Will. Bill smiled as Katie and Will hugged each other. Katie told Will that mommy was home.
At Quinn's place, Quinn suggested that Wyatt be romantic with Steffy on the trip. Wyatt said the vibe would be different with Liam there. Quinn added that Eric would be there, too, and Monte Carlo was romantic. Wyatt had to leave because the crew was flying out that day. Before he left, he asked Quinn to be good and not do anything while he was gone.
In Eric's office, Eric considered going to Monte Carlo. Steffy suggested that he invite his girlfriend. Eric agreed to go, but he said it was too early to invite his lady friend or to call the friend his girlfriend. Liam entered in time to hear that Eric would join them on the trip.
Wyatt arrived as Eric was leaving to prepare for the trip. At the door, Wyatt felt the need to apologize for his mother sneaking into Forrester and said he'd do all he could to make sure Quinn wouldn't cause problems for Eric.
Later, Eric called Quinn from the jet as he awaited the others. He said he wouldn't see her for a few days because he was on his way to the Spencer Summit in Monte Carlo. Quinn remarked that Steffy and Wyatt were going, too, and Eric said he was flying with them. Quinn flirted with him about returning with something he could rip off her, and Eric said he couldn't wait.
After the call, Liam arrived on the jet. He felt that a drink would help him deal with the flight. Liam couldn't believe that Wyatt was living Liam's life with Steffy due to Quinn, but Liam figured that Eric would say Liam and Steffy had been on the rocks anyway. Eric couldn't comment on Steffy and Liam's relationship, but he could say that Quinn had been wrong to interfere.
Liam said it was what Quinn did, and it would continue. Liam was sure Quinn would strike again, and the only silver lining Liam could hope for was that it pushed Steffy back to him, where she belonged.
Later, everyone had arrived, and Eric handed out glasses of Champagne. The four toasted to the trip, and Steffy decided they needed pictures. Eric wanted to take pictures of Wyatt, Liam, and Steffy, but Liam slipped out of the frame, claiming to have a bad hair day. He grimaced as the others took photos.
Back at Quinn's place, Quinn told Deacon that she was going on a trip. She said that while she packed, Deacon needed to find her a flight. "Oh, Quinn," Deacon murmured.
As Quinn packed, Deacon asked the Lord to explain how the intelligent Quinn could be so naïve. Quinn said Eric would be alone in a romantic city, and she needed to be with him. It was her "Grace Kelly moment," in her eyes. Deacon asked her to think of the marriage she'd worked so hard to give Wyatt, but Quinn replied that she had to think of herself at some point.
Deacon went to get the charger because the laptop battery had died. Quinn imagined arriving in Monte Carlo and hugging Eric. "Monte Carlo, here I come," she said to herself.
