Fans of The Bold and the Beautiful's Thomas are reeling from the news that Pierson Fodé has chosen to exit the CBS soap in pursuit of other career opportunities, but the character himself may not be gone for long.
Though Thomas has been written into the background in recent months, Fodé's exit may change the young Forrester's fate; the actor teases that the powers that be are likely recasting the role he's played since 2015.
The Washington native shared a farewell message on Instagram that not only touches on his tough decision to leave the daytime world but also on the likelihood that he'll "pass the baton of Thomas to another hideous looking guy."
He writes: "The decision to say goodbye to @boldandbeautifulcbs didn't come easily but with sleepless nights and countless questions. What a surreal experience to have but ultimately I have to go where my heart leads me. It's what we all have to do. I can't be more thankful to have had a boss like @bradbell who understood and encouraged my decision to explore. Thank you to every hard working soul at @cbsdaytime and bold who let me work beside you. And thank you to all the fans that not only accepted me but championed me through my time on the show."
He continues: "At some point I will likely have to pass the baton of Thomas to another hideous looking guy;) but when the time comes for him to step into my shoes, I hope my performance will haunt him for the rest of his life. Thanks for allowing me into all of your lives and I hope you follow me on my journey to new things. #Dreams"
B&B has yet to comment on whether or not the show is looking to replace Fodé, who has already taped his final scenes and will last air on Thursday, September 14. If the powers that be do decide to bring in another actor, former portrayers Adam Gregory and Drew Tyler Bell are two possibilities.
