Hi, Scoopers. I know you've landed here looking for my assessment of this week's shows. I'm sorry to say that I was unable to produce my regular weekly column due to a difficult week with my new preemie. (Acid reflux, shooting milk projectile out his nose, and sleeping only 1.5 hours before fussing and wanting to be fed.) I hope you'll allow me some "maternity leave" this week. In all the years I've been writing here, I've rarely missed a week, as regular readers know, so I hope you won't be too irritated. I made it through only two shows, and if I had had time to write my column, here are a few of the thoughts that would have made it in:
--Paul Ryan is going vintage with his wardrobe. He wore a cream blazer over a colored t-shirt. He must be getting wardrobe tips from Miami Vice's Sonny Crockett.
--Aaron Snyder looked like Spiderman or one of the Duke boys hitching a ride on the top of an ambulance in that action sequence. He should give up his bartending job and try a career as a stunt man.
--Chris Hughes is bringing sexy back. Holla! He was smoking hot as the show's action hero this week. Sure it was a bit cheesy when the whole police force had their guns aimed at Rick, and Chris took him down with a right hook. But, hey, he looked good doing it. And he can whip up a toxin antidote quicker than Emma can whip up an apple pie. What more do you want in a leading man?
--I couldn't help but chuckle when Bob found Susan lying on the floor and yelled out to the nurses, "I need help in here!" Um, Bob, you're a doctor; do something already! And note to Bob: I'm pretty sure you don't have to say "Immediately" and "Stat" consecutively. They mean the same thing, right?
--Can we please get an Oakdale talent show featuring our favorite characters? There are some fantastic singers on this show: Liberty, Sage, Alison, Emily, etc. I'd love to see a talent show like General Hospital used to do at the Nurses Ball. Can you imagine acts with Henry and Tom and the gang?
--Rick Decker made me laugh out loud when he declared that he didn't want Emily as a hostage because he wanted to take someone that people really care about! Ouch!
Best Lines of the Week:
(Rick forces a kiss on Susan.)
Rick: "I apologize. I thought that you might still have some feelings for me."
Susan: "I do. Repulsion."
(Psycho serial killer Rick Decker tells Margo he'll help solve the toxin case if she'll pardon his life prison sentence.)
Margo: "Are you insane?" (Shakes her head knowingly that he is.)
That's all for now Scoopers! See ya next time.
