The Young and the Restless' Shemar Moore's (ex-Malcolm Winters) is heading home! Unfortunately, not to Genoa City, but back to the CBS family as the lead in the network's upcoming reboot of S.W.A.T.
According to Variety, Moore will also serve as producer for the series based on the film of the same name that follows a locally born and bred S.W.A.T. lieutenant who is torn between loyalty to the streets and his fellow officers when he's tasked to run a highly trained unit that's the last stop for solving crimes in Los Angeles.
Moore is set to play the lead lieutenant, Daniel "Hondo" Harrelson, who usually exudes calmness but is ready for action at the drop of a hat. He has more than enough ability to become a leader -- if only he can drop his resistance about the reason he became one.
Bond star Stephanie Sigman has also signed on to the S.W.A.T. pilot to play Jessica, an ambitious and fastidious high-ranking S.W.A.T. member.
Moore starred on Y&R from 1994 to 2014. He later went on to star on Criminal Minds, a gig he played from 2005 until his shocking departure in 2016.
