Amelia Heinle (Victoria Newman) has signed a new contract that will keep her in Genoa City for a very important milestone.
"Thank you for your continued support," Heinle said to fans via Twitter. "I'm really happy to be staying for my tenth year on Y&R! Now we need Billy to sign on again too!"
Heinle's reference to Billy acknowledges that her on-screen love interest, Billy J. Miller (Billy Abbott) is currently at an impasse in his contracts with Y&R.
"He's one of a kind and will be missed terribly if He goes," Heinle added. "I'll do my best to convince Him to stay, that's the truth, working with Billy is one of my favorite parts of this show."
Heinle joined the cast of The Young and the Restless in 2005 after an exhaustive search to find someone to take over the role of Victoria when Emmy winner Heather Tom stepped out to pursue other projects. Heinle's contract, a two-year deal, will take her through to her tenth anniversary with the CBS soap.
Prior to joining Y&R, Heinle appeared as All My Children's Mia Saunders from July 2001 to 2004. Heinle also enjoyed a three-year run as Steffi Brewster on Loving and its spinoff, The City.
