Kristoff St. John (
Neil Winters) has signed a new multi-year deal with CBS's top-rated soap, The Young and the Restless. The announcement ends weeks of speculation about the actor's future with the show.
As previously reported by soapcentral.com, things looked rather dire for St. John at one point. As the clock ticked down to the end of his contract, talks between the actor and the network were said to be non-existent. St. John later clarified that contract talks were to have taken place during the busy holiday and year-end period. The actor explained that he wanted to wait until the new year in order to get down to business.
"The contract is fresh with new ink for another three-year stint," St. John beamed.
The terms of St. John's new contract were not revealed, but the actor has hinted that the new deal will allow him the opportunity to seek additional work outside of daytime television, all while still appearing as a contract performer on The Young and the Restless.
But what's ahead of St. John's alter ego remains to be seen. The show was rumored to be plotting out a love triangle between Neil, Drucilla and Yolanda. However, that plan was scrapped when actress Chene Lawson (Yolanda Hamilton) was abruptly let go from the show last month. Lawson last aired January 24th.
However, with a newly recast Lily now in town, it would appear that Neil's storyline will shift from one of romance to one focusing on his role a father.
St. John joined the cast of The Young and the Restless in January 1991.
