Alla Korot was born in Odessa, in the former USSR. The only child of Alex and Elena Korot, she emigrated with her parents to San Francisco when she was six years old.
She graduated from Nova Academy, an arts-oriented school, and attended the University of California at Los Angeles.
Korot began dancing at age nine, taking ballet lessons. She spent six years touring professionally with Ballet Celeste International. In 1987, she was crowned California Miss T.E.E.N., in a national pageant that encourages excellence in teens and stresses academic achievement and talent.
Korot moved to Los Angeles after high school to pursue acting. She starred as Jenna Norris on "Another World" and was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award as Outstanding Younger Actress. She played the lead role in the film, "Angelique"; was drawn for the character Esmeralda for the Disney animated hit, "The Hunchback of Notre Dame"; and appeared with Kris Kristofferson in the film, "Night of the Cyclone." Her television credits include guest appearance roles on "Third Rock From the Sun," "Diagnosis Murder," "Silk Stalkings," and a recurring role on "Parker Lewis Can't Lose."
Korot enjoys snow skiing, horseback riding, bowling, and traveling.
