Just in time for the holiday season, Showtime is gifting fans with a run of the entire original first two seasons of the cult classic Twin Peaks slightly ahead of the series' spin-off scheduled to debut early next year.
The original episodes of David Lynch's series will be available for Showtime subscribers to binge-watch starting December 26 on Showtime's streaming service, Showtime On Demand and Showtime Anytime.
As soap fans know, both Ray Wise (ex-Ian Ward, The Young and the Restless; ex-The Dealer, Knott's Landing; ex-Blair Sullivan, Dallas; ex-Hal Rumley, Days of our Lives) and Ian Buchanan (ex-Duke Lavery, General Hospital; ex-Ian McAllister, DAYS; ex-Dr. James Warwick, The Bold and the Beautiful; ex-Dr. Greg Madden, All My Children) played important roles in the original series, which aired from 1990 to 1991.
The highly anticipated spin-off series is directed entirely by Lynch and mixes original cast members like Wise with new cast members like former AMC and As the World Turns star Amanda Seyfried (ex-Joni Stafford and ex-Lucinda Montgomery, respectively). It picks up twenty-five years after the inhabitants of a quaint northwestern town were stunned when their homecoming queen, Laura Palmer, was shockingly murdered.
