Renee Goldsberry (ex-Evangeline Williamson) will once again find herself immersed in the world of drama -- but not daytime drama. The Daytime Emmy nominee will return to Broadway in the world premiere production of Good People.

"I am thrilled to announce that I will be starting another Broadway show at the beginning of the New Year!" Goldsberry tells Soap Central. "It is a new play called Good People by David Lindsay-Abaire."

In addition to Goldsberry, Good People stars Oscar winner Frances McDormand, Tate Donovan, Estelle Parsons, Becky Ann Baker, and Patrick Carroll.

Broadway.com describes the play as follows: Welcome to Southie, a Boston neighborhood where a night on the town means a few rounds of bingo...where this month's paycheck covers last month's bills... and where Margie Walsh was just let go from yet another job. Facing eviction and scrambling to catch a break, Margie thinks an old fling who's made it out of Southie might be her ticket to a fresh new start. But is this apparently self-made man secure enough to face his humble beginnings? Margie is about to risk what little she has to find out.

Rehearsals for Good People begin on January 4, 2011. The first preview for the play is scheduled for February 8, 2011, with an opening night slated for March 3, 2011. The show will close on April 24, 2011. These dates are subject to change.

Good People will play at the Samuel J Friedman Theatre, 261 West 47th Street, New York, NY. Ticket prices will range from $57 to $116.

In addition to her work on Broadway, Goldsberry is also taping a few more episodes of CBS's hit The Good Wife. Goldsberry plays Geneva Pine on the primetime drama, and the actress says she will be featured "prominently" in the upcoming episodes. Airdates, however, have not yet been made available.
