The fan-favorite Emmy winner has been on the fence about shaving the facial hair he grew as part of Sonny's shooting storyline last fall, even polling fans on Twitter about whether it should stay or go. When that resulted in a perfect 50/50 split, he finally decided to bite the bullet and cut it loose.
"It's over," he posted to Instagram along with a video of himself reverting back to the clean-shaven look. The post also includes the hashtags #beard #nobeard #byebyebeard, and #cleanshaven.
As fans of the actor know, this isn't the first time Benard and Sonny have had facial hair. Benard has sported all kinds of different looks over the years, one of the most recent during Sonny's time in Pentonville.
