Model-turned-actor Ryan Paevey will be heating up Port Charles this winter in the newly created contract role of Nathan West.

Though details about the character's future story are being withheld by ABC, Soap Central has learned that Nathan will be revealed to be a detective working for the Port Charles Police Department.

And about that last name? Well, some fans are already speculating that Nathan altered his last name and that he could be related to Britt Westbourne.

This will mark Paevey's first contract television role. He appeared previously in the short The Girl with the Gloves, and worked as a production assistant on Birds of a Feather.

Paevey first aired on January 2, and he was almost immediately greeted with online controversy. An unauthorized Twitter account was established by an imposter claiming to be the star. Paevey's management company quickly revealed that the account was a fake. Paevey has not yet created a Twitter account.
