Jonathan Jackson has been officially cut from the unofficial list of Anakin Skywalkers.
TV Guide created a stir when it revealed that the former Lucky was the top fan choice to play Anakin Skywalker in the next Star Wars. prequel. If you're not in the know, apparently Anakin Skywalker turns out to be Darth Vader down the line.
The hubbub surrounding the TV Guide report created a whirlwind of media hype. Newsweek magazine ran a feature story on the report --- and that was apparently Jackson's undoing.
"The article actually hurt him," Jackson's agent, Jane Berliner, told Entertainment Weekly. "You know how George Lucas is --- they don't like that kind of publicity."
Still in the running for the role are Titanic heartthrob Leonardo DiCaprio, Chris Klein from the film American Pie, James Van Der Beek of the WB's Dawson's Creek, Ryan Phillippe (ex-Billy, One Life to Live), and Eric Christian Olsen of the FOX show Get Real.
