Congratulations are in order for Days of our Lives' Carson Boatman (Johnny DiMera), who married model Julana Dizon in a gorgeous ceremony on Friday in Des Moines, Iowa, where the actor was raised.
Boatman, who recently joined DAYS as a SORAS'd Johnny, tells People that he and Dizon are "ecstatic" about becoming husband and wife. "We couldn't be happier," the actor/country music singer enthuses. "It's been a long year and, so, we're excited to kind of get it behind us and top it off with us tying the knot."
The couple's ceremony was filled with special personal touches, including Dizon and her bridesmaids all donning cowboy boots, and the attendance of the couple's dogs, one of which stood in as a flower girl and the other as a ring bearer who ran down the aisle to an AC/DC song. "It was a whole bit," Boatman shares.
Boatman and Dizon first met in Los Angeles in 2016, when they were paired up by their gym trainer, who suggested they go on a dinner date. "And the rest is history," says Boatman, who also shares that he popped the question to Dizan in July of 2020 by writing an original song that concluded with him asking her to marry him.
"These last five years with Julana have honestly been the best years that I've had so far," says Boatman. "I love spending every day with her and I'm just looking forward to spending the rest of my days with her. Just doing life with Julana is what I'm looking forward to."
