Rumors have been swirling that Kyle Lowder (Rex Brady; ex-Rick Forrester, The Bold and the Beautiful) has been let go from Days of our Lives, and the actor has officially confirmed the disappointing news that Soap Central reported in early July.
The actor took on the character of Rex in 2018 after a thirteen-year absence from the soap (he previously played the role of Brady Black, which was taken over by Eric Martsolf in 2008). Unfortunately, Rex didn't prove popular with fans, (which Lowder was aware of), and exit rumors have been swirling for quite some time. However, the actor remains thankful for the opportunity to have returned to the show he calls a second home.
"One more week," Lowder declared on Instagram of departing DAYS. "Man, this has been fun. So grateful to have returned over the past year to the place where it all started for me, almost two decades ago. This show, and everyone associated with it, both in front of and behind the camera, will always be very special to me."
He continues, "My most sincere and heartfelt appreciation to the powers that be at DAYS and NBC. And of course, to all of you, the fans, for your unbridled love and enthusiasm. You remind me every single day of why I truly love what I do. Farewell, and thank you."
Fortunately, this won't be the last that fans see of Lowder. As Soap Central previously reported, he is producing and starring in the upcoming movie A Mermaid for Christmas.
