Hold onto your hats, Days of our Lives fans, because Colombian telenovela star Ximena Duque makes her debut as Blanca tomorrow, June 7, and she's already making waves in Salem.
The character immediately heats things up when she puts the moves on Rafe (Galen Gering), the son of her friend, Adriana (Alma Delfina), shortly after arriving in town. But it seems her interest in the cop doesn't last long, which could leave poor Rafe unlucky in love yet again. "At the beginning, [Blanca] was flirting with Rafe, and then [she] ended up going another route, which was great," the actress told Yahoo! TV. "You never know where the character is going to go."

And she isn't kidding about that: Duque was only slated to make appearances in ten episodes of the NBC drama, but she's now done up to 25 -- meaning she's definitely had to draw from her experience on shows like Santa Diabla and Corazón Valiente. "The good thing is, I've done many soap operas. You need to have a certain rhythm to do these kind of shows, and I have it," she shares, adding that telenovelas are actually more difficult than US soaps. "Here in Miami when we shoot a soap opera, we do 20 scenes daily. [At] DAYS, they don't do that many scenes, so even though I had to speak in English, and even though I had to memorize everything in English and that was hard, for me it was also kind of easy because we do a lot more scenes [for telenovelas]."
