Here comes trouble, Days of our Lives fans. Alison Sweeney (Sami Brady) is heading back to Salem -- and she'll be hitting the canvas a bit earlier than viewers may have expected.
Considering her return is related to the show's upcoming 50th anniversary, many assumed Sami would be back in November. But it turns out the feisty blonde will be back starting Monday, October 12.
SPOILER ALERT! Stop reading now if you don't want to know the identity of the next person who is felled by the Necktie Killer.
It's been revealed that Sami will be rushing home due to the death of her son Will (Guy Wilson), who is the Necktie Killer's next victim. How will Sami react to her eldest child dying in such a tragic fashion? And will she be instrumental in bringing the assumed killer, Ben (Robert Scott Wilson), to light and to justice for his horrific crimes? Time will have to tell, but one thing is clear: Current co-head writers Dena Higley and Josh Griffith have been delivering top-notch material for a slew of newly returned stars like Peter Reckell (Bo Brady) and Stephen Nichols (Patch Johnson), so it won't be a surprise if Sami's storyline is stellar, as well.
Sweeney, who recently departed her long-term gig as host of The Biggest Loser, took over the role of Sami in 1993. She chose not to renew her contract with the NBC soap and last aired in October of 2014. The actress' exit story featured Sami moving to California for a movie deal.
At this time, there's no word on how long Sweeney will be sticking around in Salem or whether or not Sami's longtime love, E.J. (James Scott), will return to the canvas in the coming months, as well. When the two actors reunited as their DAYS alter egos last month for a Syrian refugee, Scott teased, "#ejamiaintover ;-)"
