The Bold and the Beautiful's Jacqueline MacInnes Wood (Steffy Forrester) gave everyone a surprise when she eloped with Elan Ruspoli earlier this summer. And now she has revealed another fun surprise: she's nearly six months pregnant with her first baby!
According to ET, Wood decided to reveal her exciting pregnancy news to her castmates in a very unusual way: During a scene that called for the actress to walk down the catwalk in sexy lingerie, she yelled: "I just wanna let you all know: your girl is pregnant! I am pregnant!"
Most of her costars were completely stunned by the news, with Courtney Hope expressing: "I'm so surprised. I had no idea. And it's super weird because I work with her all the time!"
The one person who was given a heads-up, however, was B&B's executive producer and head writer Brad Bell.
"She told me about a month ago, and she told me in person [and] came up to my office," he tells ET. "I'm thrilled. I'm a father of four kids myself, and she's just fallen in love with her husband and now she's falling in love again with a child. It's just a wonderful, wonderful thing."
As wonderful as it is, however, Wood reveals that it was a nerve-wracking feeling to announce her pregnancy.
"I am still shaking, my hands are shaking, my body is shaking, but it's such a surreal, beautiful moment and I am happy to do it with people that I love," she enthuses, adding that she's excited to experience intense love for her baby (whose sex has yet to be revealed). "I feel like I am a happy, positive person, and it's the most beautiful, yet scary new chapter because of the amount of love that I am going to give this child."
As for how B&B will handle Wood's pregnancy on-screen, viewers don't have to worry about Steffy having yet another baby, seeing as how the character just had one.
"[You're going to see] Steffy holding things, Steffy behind desks," Wood joked of how the show will hide her growing belly. "Whatever work wants to throw at me, I am game."
