With the opioid crisis continuing to spread across America, there's no better time for the release of Serenity, a film about the devastating effects of drug addiction, directed by The Bold and the Beautiful's Heather Tom (Katie Logan).
The actress took to social media to announce that viewers can tune in to a new platform called IndieVue on Monday, January 8, at 6PM PT/9PM ET, to catch the premiere of her heartbreaking film.
"Happy new year everyone!!! My film SERENITY will be premiering on a brand new platform called IndieVue next Monday, January 8th @ 6PM Pacific/9PM Eastern," she wrote. "I will be doing a real-time, on-screen commentary of the film right after it airs, along with a replay."
As Soap Central previously reported, the 17-minute short stars Vince Nappo (I'm Dying Up Here) as Dane, an addict struggling to reconcile the immense damage his habits have done to his family and resurrect his life. It also stars Tom's real-life four-year-old son, Zane, as Dane's brother.
"I'm really proud of this film. It deals with the devastating effects of opioid addiction on a family -- a subject that too many of us have a connection to. I'd love to hear your thoughts and experiences, so please join me."
Interested fans can go to www.indievue.com and register a free account to access Tom's passion project.
UPDATE: IndieVue will host a live viewing party complete with a chance for fans to interact with Heather Tom. The event starts at 9pm Eastern on January 8. You can access the vieweing party here.
