Kyle Lowder's (Rick Forrester) four-year run on The Bold and the Beautiful has come to an end. The Emmy-nominated actor and the CBS soap have parted ways.
In an interview with Soap Opera Digest, Lowder revealed that B&B's head writer and executive producer, Brad Bell, called him into a meeting and apologized for being unable to come up with front-burner story for Rick.
"He felt it was in everybody's best interest that we go in different directions," Lowder told the magazine. "I had a great four years there and I thank him for the opportunity. And now, onto the next thing."
Lowder joined the cast of The Bold and the Beautiful in January 2007. Prior to joining B&B, Lowder enjoyed a five-year run as Brady Black on NBC's Days of our Lives. In 2003, Lowder earned an Outstanding Young Actor nod at the Daytime Emmys.
A final airdate for Lowder has not yet been announced because, according to a report in CBS Soaps In Depth, Lowder will continue to appear on B&B on a recurring basis. The 30-minute soap has frequently dropped its contract players to recurring status when story for their characters has dried up. Recently, Winsor Harmon (Thorne Forrester) and Ashley Jones (Bridget Forrester) have been put on recurring.
