With a serial killer loose in Pine Valley, many All My Children fans are fearful that some of their underused favorite stars' alter-egos might end up as victims. Fans of at least one star can now breath a sigh of relief: Aiden Turner (Aidan Devane) recently signed a new multi-year contract with AMC.
In May, Soap Central first reported that there was some question about the English heartthrob's future with the show. Published reports had Turner missing his homeland. Publicly fans wondered if the actor's lack of story was a harbinger of his desire to leave or the show's scribe writing him out.
"Aiden is NOT leaving All My Children and has recently signed with ABC/AMC to stay on for the next four years," the webmaster of Turner's official web site said in a statement.
Over the past year or so, Turner's on-screen time has been rather sparse as his character's romantic prospects fizzler. When actress Natalia Cigliuti (Anita Santos) took maternity leave, Aidan saw little in the way of face time. After Cigliuti opted to leave All My Children, Aidan was paired up with Connie Fletcher (Erin Lavery). Fletcher was recently fired and Turner's alter ego has since been coupled with also-underutilized (Di Henry).
Turner joined the cast of All My Children in June 2002.
